Ice encrusted Soda Butte Creek in Lamar Valley tumbles over a small rock. A long exposure softens the water showing how the water flower over the obstacle.
The roots of an old tree reach into the morning fog along Rabbit Creek. On cool mornings, this thermally fed creek can create a small fog bank in the area. I like the simplicity of the sinuous tree root with the faint silhouette of the trees behind it.
Tangled Creek, about 8 miles north of Old Faithful, gets a lot of thermal influence from the features along Firehole Lake Drive. On cold mornings, the fog can be irresistible.
