Beehive Geyser is spectacular in any light. Beehive erupts about once to twice a day. The eruptions remind me of a firehose. Using an f-stop of f/22 and using the steam to partially block the sun, I was able to create the sunstar.
These "bobby socks" trees are sitting in "Interchange Spring". The white at the base of the stumps is a silica deposit in the tree, killing the tree. I walked the road out to this area early one winter morning. Since this spring sits at the overpass at Old Faithful, I felt that early on a winter morning was the best and safest time to be out there; it can be extremely busy there during the summer.
