About Me
Thank you for stopping by. This site is a constant work in progress.
I have been interested in photography since I was 10 years old and my family took a three-week vacation through Europe.
I started working in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming in 2000. Since then, my love of photography has become a passion, and I've decided that when I grow up I want to be a professional photographer.
Landscapes have always inspired me. Geyser and other thermal features have always captured my imagination from the colors of the pools and runoff channels to the fantastical shapes created by the geyserite. The way the light plays across the landscape throughout the course of a day; the clouds with their infinite shapes sometimes brooding with an approaching storm or like delicate gossamer draped over the sky. Rainbows and the shape rain takes under a summer thunderstorm to the bitter cold of winter with its multitude of atmospheric phenomena. I hope that my photographs capture Yellowstone's many moods and the many places, plants, and animals that are the reason the park is known as Wonderland.
My photos have been published in the Yellowstone Association calendar, and I have won awards at the Gallatin County Fair in Bozeman, Montana including the Reserve Sweepstakes Award for my pelican photo, "The Patience of Job". In 2016, my "Electric Fuchsia" photo won 3rd place Amateur Landscape in the Yellowstone Forever Photography Contest sponsored by Nature's Best Photography. The image was printed in the Spring 2017 Nature's Best Photography magazine and was displayed in the Yellowstone Art & Photography Center at Old Faithful that year.
